About The Senators
Founded in 1981 as a 35-and-over old boys rugby club, the Ottawa Senators Rugby Club (OSRC) is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
We play other over-35 clubs within the Montreal-Toronto-Ottawa triangle. We venture further afield to attend two annual tournaments and occasionally play fixtures in the US. Sometimes we'll plan a tour that takes us to a special destination.
Our playing season begins in May and fixtures run until late October. We train on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM at Gloucester High School (2060 Ogilvie Road), followed by a social at the Big Rig pub. Home matches are usually held at Twin Elm Rugby Park or Rowan’s Pitch in Nepean.
Off-season training sessions run during the winter months. They're held on Tuesdays at the Elgin Street Police Gym starting at 6:20PM. Post-training beverages take place at the Elgin Beer Project pub on Elgin St.
We hold regular social events, even (and especially) during the dark winter months.
